Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person services to the needy and suffering, in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. As a reflection of the whole family of God, members, who are known as Vincentians, are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group and economic level. Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility and sharing, which is nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings and adherence to a basic Rule. Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served, because in them Vincentians see the face of Christ.
Please do not forget to place your offering in the boxes in the Churches and Chapel. Your support goes a long way in our efforts to assist those most in need in our community. We also extend a word of sincere thanks to the men and women who comprise the St. Mary’s Conference and Sacred Heart Conference of St. Vincent de Paul Society. We truly appreciate all your efforts on behalf of those in need.
"You are the light of the world. In the same way your light must shine before others, so that they may see the good you do and praise your Father in heaven." --Matthew 5:14, 16

This group provides our Collaborative parishioners an opportunity to have a real and needed impact on the many families that we welcome to St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart each year. Our goal is to help people who are new to the Collaborative adjust to their new community and participate more fully in the life of the parish. Whether you have just a little time available or a lot, there will be a role for you. You can help research resources in the community, assist someone with understanding how to get around Lynn, provide transportation to an appointment, help a family find furniture, or just be a good listener.
